Kahifo Group is led by Basha Hifato, with a team in Ottawa and advisers who know the sectors we work in.
Basha Hifato
Basha Hifato leads Kahifo Group. He and his team build relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, exporters and buyers in Canada, across Southern and East Africa and internationally. His network gives Kahifo its market reach, and all of our work runs under his lead. He's our main contact for African business.
His experience covers more than three decades of involvement in African business, development, mineral exploration and international relationship building. It includes managing East African operations and supporting mineral exploration and business development initiatives in Tanzania, as well as involvement with companies pursuing opportunities across Zambia, Namibia and other African markets.
Over the years, Basha has developed relationships across business, government, institutional and community sectors, with a network extending across Africa, Canada and international markets.
From Ottawa, his team acts as sales agent for the manufacturers we work with. They find supply opportunities, run commercial talks and connect suppliers with qualified buyers.
His role focuses on developing relationships with businesses, distributors, organizations, institutions and other commercial partners, identifying opportunities, and connecting market requirements across the region with the suppliers Kahifo Group works with.

Kahifo Group Inc. is registered as a supplier with United Nations procurement systems. That means it can respond to UN tenders for the goods it sources.
Jeff Ackert
Jeff is a geologist and mining executive based in Ottawa, with more than three decades of experience finding and developing mineral projects in Canada, Africa and the Americas.
He is President and CEO of Cascade Copper Corp., co-founded Carube Copper (now C3 Metals), and founded Orezone Resources, where he led gold exploration in West Africa. Earlier in his career he worked as a geologist with Barrick and other major mining companies.
He advises Kahifo Group on the mining sector: how mines and exploration companies buy, which suppliers they need, and how to build lasting partnerships between Canadian companies and African mining projects.
